Plantation Huntboard

A huntboard with five legs is unusual. This one was originally at Tuckahoe Plantation on the James River near Richmond, Virginia. A second unusual feature is two large deep drawers, the right one provided with a lock, suggesting that it may have kept bottles of refreshment as well as sugar and spices. Black walnut and yellow pine. H.41 7/8, W. 49, D. 22 1/2.
