The Self-Centering Hinge Bits give you a dead-center pilot hole for your hinge hardware with minimal effort. Line up the hinge where it needs to go, place the bit in the screw countersinks, and drill. The spring-loaded shell centers the internal drill bit, keeping the drilling speedy and consistent. Every screw goes in level, and you don’t have to worry about screws skewing the finicky cabinet hardware.

Acrylic jigs are often available for use with Self-Centering Bits, or a jig can be made in a minute by drilling a hole for the Self-Centering Bit in an L-shaped piece of scrap so the bit can be located at a consistent depth.

The Shelf Pin Guides operate on the same principle, but instead of the tapered drill bit of the Hinge Bits, the internal drill bit is a brad-tip drill. The brad tip is made of HSS for a precise, clean hole. Designed for use with shelf pin jigs.
