Woodcarver’s Screws

These woodcarver’s screws have a relaxed taper to the screw end than you would find in more traditional designs so that you don’t have a problem with the wood splitting apart when you screw in the screw.

The giant wingnut used to clamp the screw to your workbench is very big, which makes it a lot easier to both tighten and loosen the screw. The wingnut has a hole it in for engaging the screw when you are screwing the screw into the work.

Once upon a time we offered two sizes but now we have just one — 9″ overall with a 1/2″ shaft — ideal for large carvings or for those working with a very thick workbench.
